1. Army % Airforce Services (AAFES)
AAFES provides its programs as follows:
For all clothing and shoes a 30-day layaway
For jewelry three months layaway
For all other merchandise a two months layaway
This program is only available for in-store shoppers, a deposit of 15% is required and items must be above $25.

2. Baby Depot
Its in-store program runs for 90 days. At the time of purchase, a deposit of 20% applies, and within 14 days you are required to make 20%. Also, a $5 charge applies, and it is not refunded.

3. Big Lots
Big Lots boasts of a similar plan and it is called the Price Hold. It is not promoted and it is not available for all the stores.
To put an item on Price Hold you pay 10% of the item and it is held for 90 days and some stores charge $5. Sofas, dining sets, furniture, chairs are some items available on this program.

4. Burlington Coat Factory
Burlington Coat Factory is perhaps the oldest provider of this program because they have been doing it for the last 45 years.
This program runs during the holiday season and for 60 days all year. The program is not for everybody and it only applies to in-store shoppers.
At the time of purchase, you pay 20%, and within the next 14 days from the purchase date, you are required to pay an additional 20%.
You pay $5 and a $10 cancellation on your purchase. They don’t provide cash refunds but they give them as a gift card.

5. Hallmark Gold Crown
Hallmark Gold Crown provides this program in all of its corporate-owned stores. The program lasts for 90 days and you are required to deposit 20% and this only applies to full-priced items.
Hallmark Gold Crown provides no cancellation or any other fees, also independent stores of this company may or may not offer the program and they may have their terms for their program.

6. Walmart
Every year, Walmart extends its holiday program. The year-round program begins on August 30th and ends on the 9th of December.
This program is only offered in stores, it covers several items such as select sporting goods, jewelry, toys, furniture, small appliances, and electronics.
For an item to be eligible, the item must be more than $10, and $50 is the least amount for the total purchase.
To begin with, you pay 20% which will be your cancellation charge if you decide to forfeit the purchase.
If you don’t pay the order in full you are charged as well as when you don’t pick it up on time.
7. Sears and Kmart
Sears and Kmart offer programs in stores and online. A charge of between $5 to $10 applies and it runs for 8 or 12 weeks.
The down payment for the item is $10 and various items are eligible for the program. A cancellation charge of $15 applies and after payment, you have a week to cancel the program.
